The Season That Test You The Most

The Season That Test You The Most

Hey Travelers,

Waiting is the part nobody talks about the quiet, unglamorous in-between. It’s that space where the seed is planted, but you can’t yet see the fruit. It’s easy to get excited about the harvest, the destination, the promise that’s on the other side. But the waiting? The waiting is uncomfortable. The waiting is the place where faith gets tested. Where patience feels like an impossible task. And where you find yourself asking, “What’s happening?” and “Is anything even happening?”

It’s the season where:

  • Your faith gets tested.

  • Your impatience gets loud.

  • Your doubts try to take over.

  • Your emotions start to swing like a pendulum between hope and despair.

  • Your timeline presses in, demanding answers, wanting results.

I can’t count the number of days I’ve spent wondering if I misunderstood God’s voice. There were times when the silence was deafening, and the waiting felt endless. Days when I questioned whether I’d messed up somewhere along the way. And yes, days when I felt completely forgotten.

It’s a lonely place, isn’t it? That moment when everything around you feels still, when your plans seem to stall, and you can’t see any movement. It’s as though the world is moving forward, and you’re standing still, wondering why you're not part of the momentum.

But here's the thing: That’s how every seed feels underground.

Hidden.

Silent.

Still.

There’s no sign of life on the surface. No leaves, no flowers. Nothing to show for the work being done beneath the soil. But deep below, in the unseen, something sacred is happening. Something vital.

Roots are forming.

Strength is developing.

Identity is solidifying.

God works underground before He works in public. The process of growth is quiet and hidden, but it is absolutely necessary. Without that hidden season, there’s no foundation to support what’s coming next. The seed has to take root before it can sprout into something new, something beautiful, something strong.

Think of it this way: the waiting, the stillness, the silence it’s not wasted time. God is at work, even when you can’t see it. His hand is shaping you, strengthening you, preparing you for what’s to come. There’s a purpose to the pause. It might not make sense now, but when the time is right, everything will bloom. Every season of waiting, every moment of doubt, every day of confusion it’s all part of the process.

I look back on those days when I wondered if I’d misunderstood, and I see how much growth happened in those moments of stillness. Those moments shaped me into who I am today. I may not have understood it at the time, but God was at work in ways I couldn’t see.

It reminds me of Psalm 27:14:

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

Even when it seems like nothing is happening, trust that God is growing something. Even when your faith feels small, He is working beneath the surface. Even when your doubts are loud and your emotions swing like a pendulum, remember that this season of waiting is not wasted.

So, to anyone feeling like they’re stuck in the waiting room of life just know this: God is doing something even when you don’t see it. He’s growing you, shaping you, and preparing you for the next season. Don’t give up. Don’t let impatience take over. Hold on to the promise that, in His time, what He’s working on in secret will be revealed in ways more beautiful than you could ever imagine.

Your seed is growing. And when the time is right, you’ll see the fruit.

Scripture to hold on to:
“Even when you see nothing, God is growing something.”

Take heart, travelers. The journey may feel long, but it’s all part of the process.

When I become impatient, God tend to repeat the same scriptures over again as a reminder of his plans for me. He shows me Psalm 27:14 and Jeremiah 29:11. I guess sometimes we have to ask ourselves these simple questions. Are we like the man waiting at the pool for our time to come or the soldier who had faith in believing Jesus will heal his son through by speaking it. I guess true belief is believing that regardless of our outcome, that as long as we die in our savior, and follow his ways that His Will always succeed. In the end, that is what matters the most.
